Privacy Policy

This policy describes what information Franchise ("the app," "we," "us") collects, how it's used, and your choices. Franchise is a basketball simulation fantasy sports app: you draft real NBA players, an in-app simulation plays out the season, and you compete against other GMs.

## Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect a name and email address, sourced from whichever method you choose:

- Sign in with Apple

- Sign in with Google

- Email and password (in which case we also store your password, hashed — we never see or store it in plain text)

Gameplay and league data. To run the app's core features, we store the leagues you create or join, your drafted rosters and draft picks, matchup results and standings, trades, your play-style settings, and messages you post in league chat. This data is visible to other members of leagues you're in — that's how league play works.

Friends and social data. If you use the Friends feature, we store your friend connections and requests, and league invitations you send or receive through it.

Daily challenge data. If you play the Daily Draft, Mystery Player, Player Comparison, or Badge Guess daily games, we store your entries, scores, and streaks.

Push notification data. If you enable notifications, we store a device push token (used only to deliver notifications to your device) and your notification preferences (which types of alerts you want — draft turn, friend activity, league results, daily challenge reminders).

What we don't collect. Franchise has no ads, no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and no in-app purchases or payment processing — the app is entirely free, and we don't collect any payment information.

## How We Use Information

We use the information above to operate the app's features: running your leagues and simulations, showing you and your league-mates rosters and results, delivering the push notifications you've opted into, and displaying friend connections and leaderboards.

We don't sell your information to anyone, and we don't use it for advertising.

## Third-Party Services

Franchise is built on the following third-party services, each of which processes data on our behalf under their own security practices:

- Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and backend logic.

- Apple and Google — provide Sign in with Apple / Sign in with Google, if you choose those sign-in methods.

- Expo — delivers push notifications to your device via Apple's and Google's own push notification systems.

## Data Sharing

We don't share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Information is shared only:

- With other members of leagues you join or create (as described above — this is core to how the app works).

- With service providers listed above, solely to operate the app.

- If required by law.

## Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain your account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active. To delete your account and associated data, email help@franchise-app.com with your request. We'll process deletion requests within 30 days.

## Children's Privacy

Franchise is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at help@franchise-app.com and we'll delete it.

## Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including relying on Supabase's security infrastructure and industry-standard practices (e.g., row-level security policies restricting who can access what data). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

## Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll update the effective date above when we do. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
